About Me

Hey, I'm Michael. Welcome to my site!

I'm a software developer, husband, father, and BJJ blue belt. I used to compete in powerlifting and played a few video games rather competitively. I'm from Long Island, NY and currently work at FloSports as a backend tech lead.

In 2016 I got a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Adelphi University. When I was in high school I didn't pay attention in math class because I thought I'd never need to know math. That didn't go so well.

Since then, I've worked as a software engineer for two companies. My first job out of school was at LBi Software where I worked as a contractor for MLB, NFL, and various pro sports teams building full stack web apps, mostly in React, Java + Spring Boot, and Postgres.

In 2022 I joined FloSports where I'm working across the whole stack to serve articles, results & rankings, VOD and livestreams for 25 different sports. I started off working mostly on the frontend in Angular but now I'm a backend tech lead working with Node, DynamoDB, and other fun tech.

If you want to reach out, you can email me at [my first name] @ vessia.net. It would be cool to know someone actually read this!
