Really liked this book though ironically I’m not sure that I gained much from reading this. I feel like this book has been so influential that I had already absorbed most of its messages either from working in environments that implement devops methodology or just doing other reading of books and blogs.
The book gave me the data and studies to back up the things that have already permeated into industry best practices / standards. For that reason it would be a great book for a hesitant leader to read, who wants to make organizational decisions based on data.
I also enjoyed that the book did not describe its prescriptions as infallible, for example without appropriate investment into automated testing, rollback strategies, and other techniques, something like continuous delivery will cause more pain than it is worth.
