Towards the tail end of college and into my first few years of working, I became very interested in personal finance and investing. I was graduating college saddled with student loan debt, as so many others do. This drove me to become very interested in the accumulation of money, as being in debt made me very uncomfortable and anxious. Fortunately I had a group of likeminded friends who were in a similar situation, and we were all going through a similar period of inner turmoil. Our solution was to become educated - we read, took notes on, and discussed several financial books. Not only did we learn a lot about finances, it also gave us an excuse to maintain contact and hang out after graduation. I enjoyed it greatly.
