Being a father
We welcomed our second daughter into the world this month. Being their father is the greatest joy in my life. I took a little over 2 weeks off from work post-birth, which I believe is the longest vacation in my career so far? It was a much needed break.
Redesign of this site
Previously I built my site with Astro. It’s really cool, but it’s completely separate from my normal workflow. I am now publishing with quartz which I hope I am more likely to use since it integrates with obsidian, a program I already have open 24/7 for note-taking.
Learning the Gleam programming language
Why gleam?
- I love functional programming
- It has familiar C-family syntax
- It’s a small, simple language
- It runs on BEAM, the erlang vm, which looks VERY COOL
